What is Pedestrian Lighting?

“Pedestrian lighting” as a term, can be interpreted in various ways:

One of these: pedestrian lighting is defined as any type of lighting that illuminates pedestrians or pedestrian facilities. 

In a broad sense pedestrian lighting includes residential light posts, commercial-storefront lighting, street lights, highway lighting, and bus-shelter lighting. 

In narrow sense, and this would be the subject of our article, pedestrian lighting is commonly characterized by lower-intensity light shining from fixtures on shorter “pedestrian-scale” poles designed to provide more specialized illumination.

Primarily the garden lamps as an integral part of our home are aesthetic. Lights make the path significantly safer in the evening and at night.  Lighted paths also help keep kids active, they can run out in cold weather too after being well dressed.
